If you currently store your images, videos, and documents in cloud storage services or in a DAM, you might consider migrating your assets to Frontify.

In this article, we'll explain what is an automatic migration, what are the main benefits of this approach, explain the high-level process, and highlight the solutions for which we have an automatic migration.

For common migration sources, we can automatically migrate existing assets and respective metadata (if applicable). We have automatic migrations for Bynder, Dropbox, and Google Drive.

That means we can take your existing assets and replicate the same folder and metadata structure from your cloud storage or DAM in Frontify.

The main difference with the regular migration process is that this automatically retrieves all the assets and their metadata instead of manually filling out a metadata sheet and uploading assets into an Amazon S3 bucket.

These solutions are less costly and much faster than running a regular migration. The downside is that they allow minimal customization, so they replicate only what you already have in place.

So, if you want to replicate your cloud storage or DAM asset structure one-to-one, automatic migration is the way to go. However, if you need to make changes, such as enriching or restructuring your metadata, a regular migration may better suit your needs.
