An MAU is any logged-in user who accesses Frontify — via browser, desktop, or mobile app — at least once during a calendar month.

Why we use MAU-based pricing

  • You only pay for real usage: Unlike models that charge for all invited users or fixed seats, we only charge for those who actually use Frontify.

  • No penalty for adoption: You’re encouraged to make your DAM and brand portal accessible to all employees and partners. Even if you go over your licensed MAU count, access is not restricted.

  • No retroactive charges: A higher-than-expected spike in adoption (especially around a launch) won’t lead to retroactive fees.

How MAU Is calculated

We calculate your average MAU over the last six months, which ensures that short-term spikes (like launch periods) are smoothed out and don’t disproportionately impact your license.

You can also monitor your usage trends anytime via the Analytics Dashboard.

Ongoing support and flexibility

Your Customer Success Manager and Account Manager will:

  • Help you track your MAU usage

  • Notify you proactively if you’re approaching your licensed amount

  • Support you in adjusting your license if sustained growth occurs

In summary

You may see a temporary spike in MAUs during your initial launch or during specific events (e.g. rebranding, promotional campaigns), typically 1-3 months, and that’s a great sign of adoption. We've structured your MAU license to be equitable, flexible, and growth-friendly, ensuring you can launch with confidence and without unexpected cost surprises.
