Trello integration for Frontify

Learn how to connect Trello as an integration in Frontify.

Updated this week

The Trello integration allows Frontify customers to bring approved, on-brand assets directly into their Trello workflow. By connecting Frontify’s digital asset management system with Trello boards, teams can browse, search, and attach brand assets to cards - without switching tools or compromising brand consistency.

From logos and design files to campaign visuals and templates, teams always have access to the right assets at the right time, while Frontify remains the single source of truth.

What is Trello?

Trello is a visual work management tool used to plan projects, manage tasks, and collaborate across teams. Many marketing, design, and brand teams rely on Trello to manage requests, milestones, and resourcing, while brand assets are stored and governed in Frontify.

The Frontify x Trello integration connects these workflows by embedding Frontify assets directly into Trello cards.

Key benefits of the integration

  • Access approved, on-brand assets directly inside Trello

  • Reduce duplicate uploads and versioning issues

  • Maintain consistent brand usage across projects

  • Minimize context switching between tools

  • Keep asset context connected to work and requests

Connecting your Trello account with Frontify

The integration works through a Trello Power-Up that embeds the Frontify Finder directly into Trello cards.

Frontify asset browser in Trello

Once the Power-Up is enabled, users can authorize their Frontify account and access assets directly from Trello. With the Power-Up, teams can:

  • Browse their entire Frontify asset library from within Trello cards

  • Search for approved assets using the Frontify Finder

  • Attach assets to cards with a single click

  • Open attached assets in Frontify to view details, versions, and context

  • See at a glance how many Frontify assets are attached to a card

How it works:

  1. Enable the Frontify Power-Up on your Trello board.

  2. Authorize your Frontify account (one-time).

  3. Open any Trello card and select Attach from Frontify.

  4. Browse, search, and select assets from your Frontify libraries.

  5. Assets appear instantly as attachments on the card.

How work and assets stay connected

With this integration:

  • Work planning and execution remain in Trello

  • Asset storage, review, and governance remain in Frontify

  • Assets are attached to cards without being duplicated

  • Permissions and access are enforced by Frontify

This setup reduces friction between work management and brand governance while keeping Frontify as the system of record.

Technical considerations

When using the Frontify x Trello integration, keep the following points in mind:

Asset references

  • Assets attached to Trello cards reflect their state at the time they are added.

  • If an asset name changes in Frontify, the updated name is not reflected on the Trello card.

  • If an asset is removed from Frontify, it may still appear as an attachment in Trello, but will no longer be accessible.

Performance

  • Asset browsing performance depends on the size and structure of your Frontify libraries.

  • Very large libraries or deeply nested folder structures may result in longer loading times.

Permissions and access

  • All asset access in Trello follows Frontify’s permission model.

  • Users will only see and attach assets they are authorized to access in Frontify.

Use cases

  • Marketing teams managing on-brand campaigns in Trello

  • Design teams sharing approved assets and files

  • Agencies collaborating with clients and stakeholders

  • Any team using Frontify and Trello to keep work on brand

Requirements

  • A Frontify account with access to your organization’s assets

  • A Trello board with Power-Up permissions enabled

Next steps

To start using the Trello integration, enable the Frontify Power-Up on your Trello board and authorize your Frontify account.

Once connected, teams can immediately browse and attach Frontify assets directly within Trello cards - keeping work moving while ensuring brand consistency.
