Jira Cloud integration for Frontify

Learn how to sync Frontify and Jira Cloud

Updated this week

To start using the Jira Cloud integration, you need to:

  • Enable Jira-Cloud integration for your user domain (contact your Customer Success Manager)

  • Install Jira-Cloud integration (installation guide here)

Important: This integration is designed for Jira Cloud only. It does not support self-hosted versions like Jira Server or Jira Data Center.

Overview

The Frontify integration for Jira Cloud lets you work with your Frontify assets directly inside Jira, without switching tools. It’s a bidirectional integration, meaning you can:

Bring assets from Frontify into Jira - Attach flow

Browse your Frontify libraries, select the visuals you need, and attach them to Jira issues.

Send files from Jira to Frontify - Upload flow

Take files attached to a Jira issue, like updated visuals or new versions, and upload them directly into the right Frontify library or project.

You’ll authenticate with Frontify via OAuth2, so you’ll only see the assets you have access to in your Frontify account.

Getting started

After installation, open a Jira issue, click the Apps button, and add the Frontify app to start using the integration.

Linking assets from Frontify

In any Jira issue, click the “Link assets from Frontify” button to browse and attach images from your Frontify libraries.

If you're not logged in yet, you’ll be prompted to authorize the integration. Once connected, you’ll see only the assets available to your Frontify libraries and projects.

After successful authorization, the Frontify Finder opens and displays the brand assets available to your account.

Once you select one or more assets, they are linked to the Jira issue and appear in the Frontify Assets section of the issue view.

You can click any linked asset to preview or download it. You can also unlink the asset—this removes the reference from the Jira issue, but the file remains in Frontify.

If needed, you can also attach the linked file to Jira. This copies the file into the issue as a standard attachment, displayed alongside other Jira attachments.

Upload attachments to Frontify

In the attachments section of the issue, for each attachment, a Frontify icon is displayed when the user hovers over the attachment.

Clicking the icon starts the upload flow and opens a folder selector, where you can choose the destination in your Frontify libraries or projects.

In the folder selector dialog, choose the target location in Frontify by selecting the brand, library, or project, and any applicable folders.

Once you click Upload, the attachment is copied to the selected location in Frontify.

And that’s already it, thanks for reading this help article, I hope you find it useful.
