Microsoft Office - Specific features and limitations
Features
Supported File Formats
The following file formats for Microsoft Office are fully supported in the CI HUB Connector:
Word: *.docx, *.dotx and *.odt
PowerPoint: *.pptx
Excel: *.xlsx, *.xltx and *.ods
Limitations
No External Content Panel (ExCoP)
You may see mentions in other CI HUB help articles of an external content panel marked with a link icon. This is not supported within the Microsoft connector. It’s worth noting that these limitations are due to lack of need/support within Microsoft Office itself, and may not be noticeable while using the Connector.
This means there is no support for:
Checking the version of the placed asset
Warnings when a used asset has been updated in Frontify
Linking assets to their local or cloud version
Status regarding local availability
Information regarding missing assets
Moving the source of the asset (from Cloud to local)
FAQ
Q: How do you open Word/Sheets/Slides documents using the Connector?
A: Find the document you wish to open. You can either right click and select "open in Word" or hit the "use file" icon when the document is selected. Note: this will open another document in a new window, and not place the content within your existing document.
