A LinkrUI installation guide for Google Workspace, including Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Docs.

Updated this week

This is a companion article to the LinkrUI Beginners Guide. You will need to review both articles to get started using the Connector.

Installing the Connector

Follow these steps to install Google Workspace Link:

  1. Obtain your organization's Microsoft Office Link activation code from the responsible person in your organization (the delegate, more info here).

  2. Search for LinkrUI.

  3. Select LinkrUI for Google Workspace.

  4. Click Install, and follow the prompts to authorize access to your Google account.

  5. Review and accept the requested permissions.

  6. Navigate to Google Sheets, Slides, or Docs and open the extension.

  7. Click Yes to 'Do you already have a LinkrUI Activation?'

  8. Enter the activation code provided to you by your delegate.

  9. Enter your Frontify domain in the Server URL input.

    1. For example: demo.frontify.com

  10. A new browser window will appear with the Frontify Authenticator. Follow the on-screen prompts to authenticate. Once authentication is complete, return to Microsoft Office Link and click on the Close button.

Troubleshooting

Installation process if your organization does not allow individual users to install their own add-ons

If your organization does not allow users to install their own add-ons from the Google Workspace Marketplace, your Google Workspace administrator will need to deploy LinkrUI across the organization or to specific organizational units (OUs).

To do this:

  1. Click Domain Install.

  2. Follow the prompts to authorize the installation for the desired users or organizational units.

  3. Once the add-on has been deployed, it will appear under Extensions > LinkrUI within Google Docs, Slides, or Sheets.

After the add-on is available, users can begin setup by following step 6 above.
