With Frontify’s advanced external content embedding, everyone can easily access the assets they need, regardless of their source - all in one place. Let’s make sure you know all there is to know about our content embedding features so that you enable your team to find everything they need inside your Frontify brand home.
How External Content Embed Works
External content embedding allows content that’s hosted on other websites to appear within your Frontify projects. You can embed virtually any content that is publicly accessible via a URL. The embed of each external asset that you create in Frontify will automatically show the following:
Embed external content in projects
Click on “New.”
Select “Embed Content”
Paste in your chosen URL. (Frontify will automatically fill the content's title and identify the source application by adding its logo.)
Set the asset view size for the content inside Frontify, or leave it in the full-screen view.
Enable or disable interactions with the content depending on the intended use. This allows users to edit the content as if they were using it in its native environment. So, viewers can, for example, edit Google docs or comment on Loom videos directly from Frontify.
Embed Figma content in projects
Click on “New”
Select “Figma”
Paste in your Figma URL. (Frontify will automatically fill the title of the content)
Select “Create Asset” at the bottom of the panel
That’s pretty much it! You can now sort through the different types of content faster, manage all your assets in a single view, and collaborate with all your stakeholders more easily.
Types of Content You Can Embed
Our external content embedding supports over 1900 applications. Keep in mind that although some providers support embedding private content, most of them don’t. Therefore, ensure the content has been publicly shared so that the content can be accessed when you embed it into Frontify.
Even though external content embedding works for hundreds of third-party applications, there are tools that we won’t be able to support due to technical limitations. In that case, you can still create an external asset in Frontify, but you’ll have to manually add the titles and thumbnails yourself, as shown below.
