How to perfectly describe your brand’s identity with the Text Block

Updated over a year ago

Text Blocks are a fundamental component of any brand’s visual identity and Brand Guidelines. They ensure that all written communications are consistent while reinforcing the overall brand image. This article will provide you with a simple guide on how to use the Text Block built using the new Brand SDK technology.

Open to your Brand Guidelines, and in Edit mode, add the Text Block.

Styling & Formatting

The revamped Text Block offers new possibilities to style your content easily; here are some ways to make your edits quickly.

When pasting from external sources, the Text Block keeps the formatting of the original text. This allows you to quickly copy information from other documents and create a single source of truth while keeping your brand’s identity intact.

On the sidebar, you can choose the number of columns you would like to format your text in, easily adjusting the layout of your text.

Rich text editor capabilities

We’re also offering rich text editor capabilities for the Text Block. These functions open endless possibilities to format your text and enrich it for better understanding and advanced options. In the next section, you can read more about the specific functions.

  1. Choose from predefined typefaces: you can select your brand’s typefaces directly when editing the text, applying the hierarchies set up for your Brand Portal.

  2. Decide on the usage of formatting options such as bold, italics, underline, strikethrough, and links, including dynamically linking to other Guideline pages, buttons, and code snippets in Text Blocks.

  3. Adjust your text’s alignment and define the style of lists. Decide how lists will be formatted in text blocks. This could include bullet points, numbered lists, or a checklist.

  4. Erase all text formatting.
