Text blocks are a fundamental component of any brand’s visual identity and Brand Guidelines. They ensure that all written communications are consistent while reinforcing the overall brand image.
With the Text block, you can create structured, on-brand content that’s easy to read, maintain, and scale across all your guidelines.
With enhanced list styling controls, you can now fully align lists with your brand by customizing their structure, color, and appearance.
This article will provide you with a simple guide on how to use the Text block built using the new Brand SDK technology.
Open your Brand Guidelines, switch to Edit mode, and add a Text block to get started.
Styling and formatting
The revamped Text block offers powerful ways to style your content quickly and consistently.
When pasting from external sources, the Text block keeps the formatting of the original text. This allows you to quickly consolidate content from multiple documents while maintaining your brand’s identity.
On the sidebar, you can choose the number of columns to structure your content and improve readability.
Use columns to break up long text and create clean, scannable layouts.
Rich text editor capabilities
The Text block includes advanced rich text editing capabilities, giving you full control over how your content looks and behaves.
Choose from predefined typefaces to apply your brand’s typography system and maintain hierarchy across your guidelines.
Apply formatting such as bold, italics, underline, strikethrough, and links. You can also dynamically link to other Guideline pages, buttons, and code snippets directly within your Text block.
Adjust text alignment to support different layout needs and improve visual balance.
Erase all text formatting.
Customizable list styles
Lists are essential for structuring content, whether you're defining principles, outlining steps, or highlighting key information. You can now fully control how lists appear in your Text blocks to match your brand.
To get started, select a list inside your Text block and open the styling options in the sidebar.
Customize both bullet and numbered lists in one place:
Edit bullet shapes and adjust their size to match your visual style
Define how numbered lists appear to support step-by-step content
Apply brand colors using your color schemes for full consistency
Create structured, easy-to-scan content with up to three levels of hierarchy, helping users quickly understand and navigate your guidelines.
These controls allow you to standardize list styles across all your guidelines, ensuring consistency without relying on custom CSS.
