What is the content editor, and how does it help me?
The content editor is your central workspace for creating and maintaining guideline content. It allows you to build, structure, and update pages quickly, so you can keep your guidelines accurate, consistent, and easy to manage.
Whether you’re adding new content, restructuring existing pages, or refining details, the content editor gives you the flexibility and control to work efficiently, without friction.
Recent usability improvements make editing smoother, more stable, and more predictable, so you can focus on your content instead of the interface.
Why use the content editor?
Your guidelines are not static, they evolve over time. The content editor helps you keep them up to date without slowing down your workflow.
Use it to:
Restructure pages quickly as your content evolves
Maintain consistency with reusable content blocks
Reduce manual effort with shortcuts and efficient workflows
Edit with confidence thanks to a stable and predictable experience
What is possible with the content editor?
The content editor gives you full control over how your guideline pages are built and maintained. You can add, edit, move, reuse, and organize content blocks in a way that fits your structure.
Add and edit a block
The content editor lets you browse and add content blocks to your guideline pages.
Click the + button between blocks to insert new content exactly where you need it. You can choose the precise position and adjust your layout at any time.
Once added, blocks can be edited inline with a double click. When a block is in focus (highlighted with a purple border), you can access all available actions such as settings, copy, move, reference, and delete.
The improved visual experience, such as more stable insert buttons and smoother focus states, reduces flickering and makes editing feel more seamless.
Content block settings
Access block settings by focusing on a block and clicking the settings icon.
You can also open settings using:
Mac: ⌘ + I
Windows: Ctrl + I
Copy
Copy content blocks across pages, guidelines, or brands.
Click the copy button on a focused block to add it to your clipboard. You can then paste it anywhere using the “paste here” option.
You can copy a block multiple times and reuse it across different contexts. Each copied block is independent and can be edited separately.
Shortcuts:
Mac: ⌘ + C / ⌘ + V
Windows: Ctrl + C / Ctrl + V
Move
Moving content is simple and flexible.
Click the move icon or use:
Mac: ⌘ + X
Windows: Ctrl + X
You can then place the block anywhere on the page using “move here” or by navigating with your keyboard.
You can also drag and drop blocks across sections on the same page. This removes previous limitations and makes it significantly easier to restructure your content.
Reference
Reference blocks to reuse the same content in multiple places while keeping it linked.
When you update the original (parent) block, all referenced (child) blocks update automatically.
Use the reference button to create a linked version of a block and place it where needed.
Shortcuts:
Mac: ⌘ + K
Windows: Ctrl + K
Delete
Delete blocks by clicking the delete icon or using:
Mac: ⌘ + backspace
Windows: Ctrl + del
Copied blocks can be deleted independently. Referenced blocks must first be removed from all locations before deleting the original.
Note: deletion cannot be undone.
What makes the editing experience better?
