Frontify Publisher is a web-based editing tool allowing you to quickly build on-brand marketing material – for both online and offline purposes. It helps you streamline the interaction between the ones who’re building design template, and the ones who use the templates for publishing purposes.

Where to find the Publisher

Provided that the Publisher is included in your Frontify plan, you can get started by creating a new project in your project space. You’ll have the option to connect the Publisher to your Style Guide.

Creating templates

Once you’ve set up the Publisher environment, you can import your actionable design templates from either Sketch or InDesign – to Frontify. Simply click on the “New” button > “Template” to upload them. Frontify Publisher will then automatically generate editable templates for the assets included in your design files – allowing you to simultaneously upload several templates.

Before you let different stakeholders create custom marketing collaterals, based on these templates, add can-dos and restrictions in order to keep the assets on-brand. To do so, click on any automatically generated template, and switch to edit mode. Texts, fonts, colors, images – they can all be made editable, or locked. Just click the lock icon to define what should be frozen, or changeable.

Click on the “Publish” button once you’ve finished, name the templates, add descriptions, and categorize them. Utilize the Template Libary to create a seamless workflow – helping you find what you need in no-time. Categories can be set up by clicking the cog wheel in the project space > “Publication Settings”.

Using templates

As the one who’s going to publish, you’ll be able to benefit from a wide variety of predefined, brand-consistent design templates, enabling you to independently plan your omnichannel marketing collaterals. To incorporate your ideas into these templates, click on the “New” button > “Publication”. Then, choose the template you want to use, name it, and start to modify it by clicking on “Create”.

By switching to edit mode, you’re able to modify the template according to your needs – all within the boundaries you’ve been given by the designers. Once you’ve adjusted the template according to your needs, export it in a wide variety of formats, and publish them to social media, as ad banners, billboards - or whatever you might need.
