Overview
By default, transactional emails from Frontify are sent from no-reply@frontify.com. Enterprise accounts can customize this to use their own email address and "From" name to maintain brand consistency.
What you can customize:
Sender email address (e.g., brand@yourcompany.com)
"From" name (e.g., "Your Company Brand Team")
Reply-to email address (you can update this yourself at
/whitelabel-email)
Setup Process
Step 1: Determine Your Email Details
Decide which email address and "From" name you want to use for transactional emails from Frontify. This should be an email address on a domain you control.
Step 2: Request Setup
Contact your Customer Success Manager to initiate the setup process. They will:
Submit an internal request to our Customer Support team
Inform you about the typical process timeline
Connect you with our Support team for implementation
Step 3: DNS Record Configuration
Our Customer Support team will provide you with DNS records that need to be added to your domain. This step requires involvement from your IT team, specifically the team that manages your DNS records/domain.
What records will be provided:
DKIM records (3 CNAME records) - These allow email providers to verify that emails are legitimately sent from your domain
Return-Path record (CNAME) - This helps with email deliverability
Step 4: IT Implementation
Your IT team will need to add the provided DNS records to your domain management system. Once complete, they should confirm with Frontify Support.
Step 5: Verification & Activation
After DNS records are verified, our team will:
Update the sender email address and "From" name in our system
Test the configuration to ensure emails are sending correctly
Notify you when the setup is complete
Alternative Option: Email Verification
If your IT team cannot configure DNS records, we offer an alternative email verification method:
How it works:
We add your chosen email address to our system for validation
You receive a verification email and click the confirmation link
Setup is complete
Important limitation: With this method, the sender address will show "via pm.mtasv.net" or similar in some email services like Gmail, which may appear less professional.
Security & Authentication
Email Security Standards
DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) Frontify provides the necessary DNS records for DKIM signing. Once configured, all emails sent through our system will be properly authenticated.
DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance) Your IT team is responsible for setting your DMARC policy, as you control what happens with emails sent from your domain. We recommend configuring DMARC to reject emails that don't pass DKIM and SPF checks.
SPF (Sender Policy Framework) No additional SPF record is required from your side. The Return-Path of emails sent through our system already includes the necessary SPF configuration. However, if your email server has strict checking requirements, your IT team can add include:spf.mtasv.net to your SPF record.
Enhanced Security Option: Use a Subdomain
For additional security, consider setting up a dedicated subdomain for Frontify emails (e.g., brand@frontify.yourcompany.com). This approach:
Separates Frontify emails from your main corporate domain
Protects your primary domain's email reputation
Allows for easier filtering and management
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I set this up without involving IT?
Can I set this up without involving IT?
The email verification method doesn't require DNS configuration, but we strongly recommend the DNS verification method for better deliverability and professional appearance.
What if DNS records are already in use?
What if DNS records are already in use?
DKIM records use "selectors" which allow multiple DKIM records for different services on the same domain. Your IT team can safely add our records alongside existing ones.
Will this affect other emails sent from our domain?
Will this affect other emails sent from our domain?
No. The DNS records only authorize Frontify to send emails on behalf of your domain. They don't affect other email services you use.

Can I change the sender email later?
Can I change the sender email later?
Yes, as long as you're using the same verified domain. If you need to change to a different domain, the DNS verification process will need to be repeated.
