CI HUB for Adobe Creative Suite

A getting started guide for using the CI HUB for Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects & Premiere Pro).

This is a companion article to the CI HUB Beginners Guide. You will need to review both articles to get started using the Connector.

Installing & Opening the CI HUB Connector

Follow these steps to install & open the CI HUB Connector in Adobe Creative Cloud. You can also follow along the video below.

  1. Open the Creative Cloud Marketplace and search 'CI HUB' under Plugins.

  2. Install 'CI HUB Connector' and/or 'CI HUB Connector for Photoshop'

    1. The generic 'CI HUB Connector' works in InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects & Premiere Pro.

    2. If you want to use the plugin in Photoshop, you will need to install the Photoshop-specific connector

  3. Open CI HUB in the tool of your choosing:

    1. InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects & Premiere Pro: Go to 'Window' > 'Extensions' > 'CI HUB
      ​Note that in Premiere Pro this only works within a Project. In the other tools, you can do it from the home screen or from within a working file.

    2. Photoshop: Go to 'Plugins' > 'CI HUB Connector (UXP)'

  4. Log in to CI HUB. Refer to the Beginners Guide for more information about logging in and using the connector.


Adobe Creative Cloud CI HUB Specific Features and Limitations

Features

External Content Panel (ExCoP)

ExCoP is fully supported in the Adobe Creative Suite, allowing you to track asset usage, versions, and asset locations in your project.

PPI Minimum

Set a minimum PPI. If a asset has lower PPI a warning will be displayed in the ExCoP.

Automatic Status Check

Customize the automatic status check interval.

Minimum interval is 5 min.

Locally Modified Files Warning

Enable a warning for assets that have been locally modified.

A modified Asset is an asset that has been modified after it was placed or opened from your Source System. That means that the local version is newer than the one in Frontify.

Temp Cache Folder

Easily change the location of the local temporary cache folder.

Also, ability to manually clear the temp cache or enable the temp cache to be cleared upon computer start.
