Set up a Custom Domain

Use your own domain for your Frontify Brand Portal

Updated over a week ago

Using your own domain for accessing the Frontify Brand Portal allows for a great user experience.

Note that Custom Domain is available for Team and Enterprise plans only.

Alternatively, you can set up a Custom Sub-Domain ( yourbrand.frontify.com format) available for Starter Plan.

To set up the Custom Domain, reach out to Frontify Support Team at support@frontify.com or in the chat bubble when you are working in Frontify.

Setting this up requires the active involvement of your IT department. Below we describe the typical setup flow so you know what to expect when you reach out to us:

Step 1. Ensure valid domain access certificates.

There are two ways of doing this:

a) Certificate handling via Amazon (AWS Certificate Manager)

We create the certificate directly with Amazon. You simply have to confirm via DNS validation (alternatively, email validation would also be possible). That solution means no costs for you, and you don't have to worry about renewing the certificate.

b) Certificate handling by you

You can manage the certificate handling yourself. If you want to go the classic way, we can issue a CSR (but we need the metadata from you). We will then create it based on your data and send you the CSR file for signing.

We strongly advise you to go for the first option because it accelerates the setup process and because you won't have to remember certificate renewals.

Step 2. Ensure the access of the new domain to Frontify

You would need to add a custom CNAME record to your DNS servers. For example, brand.yourcompany.com to example.frontify.com. We will inform you about the details of this record when you reach out.

Important: DNS changes can sometimes take up to 24 hours.

Step 3. Domain set up

Once both steps above are done and validated, we will set up the domain for you. That might take some time and short unavailability of your account, so we recommend preparing the time when the set up can be done and let us know. Please allow for up to 20 minutes of downtime.

Note:

  • For Enterprise customers, please contact your Customer Success Manager for any domain changes.

  • Admins can set a destination for every domain and overview all the actual domains on their Frontify instance. More details here.
