If you are currently using a cover page, this article explains how to customize and manage it until it is phased out.
Cover pages let you create a visual introduction to your guidelines using images, text, and customizable layouts. You can start with a blank layout or choose from predefined templates, then customize the content and appearance to suit your brand.
To add a cover page, open your guideline in edit mode, and select Cover page from the navigation manager.
Add and customize sections
Select Add section on the cover page canvas.
Choose a layout template such as text, image, video, or mixed formats.
Replace images and text.
Adjust layout positioning such as text overlay, left or right alignment, or above or below the image.
Customize content blocks
Crop or resize images.
Adjust margins and width.
Change alignment and positioning.
Apply overlays for visual consistency.
Link blocks directly to guidelines or other pages.
Tip: Use image overlays to create a consistent visual style across your homepage.
Adjust header settings
To customize the look of your header, go to Themes and scroll down to Header.
You can apply your brand colors or select custom ones to achieve the perfect look.
Additionally, you have control over several text styling options, such as:
Displaying menu items in uppercase, italic, underlined, or highlighted formats.
Customizing font style and size.
Adjusting letter spacing and line height for better readability and design consistency.
Header settings can differ between your cover page and other areas like your style guide or media library. Navigation items in the header may collapse into a 'More' dropdown based on screen width, which is an automatic adjustment to fit available space. Additionally, note that header settings may appear differently compared to older instructional materials due to changes introduced with the Themes update.
Customize global styles
You can define button styles including default and hover states.
You can adjust border radius and width.
You can define typography settings.
You can manage brand colors and accent colors.
These changes help maintain a consistent brand experience across Frontify.
Change the background color
Enter edit mode.
Click layout settings.
Select background color.
Choose your preferred color.
Set up targets
You can define visibility per section of your cover page.
Enter edit mode.
Hover over a section.
Click the settings cogwheel.
Go to visibility.
Choose all viewers or targeted.
Each section can have different target audiences.
Simulate target views
To preview how different audiences see the page, click the targets icon in the powerbar:
Select simulate targets.
Choose a target group.
Click start simulation.
To return to normal view, click the targets icon and select stop simulation.
Delete a cover page
Enter edit mode.
Open the navigation manager.
Click the three dots next to the cover page.
Select delete.
Cover page deletion is permanent and cannot be undone or restored.
