Introduction
The Frontify Plug-in for Figma Buzz makes it easy to design with the latest approved, on-brand assets — without leaving your design environment.
Within Figma Buzz, you can:
Access and import your brand colors and typography
Browse and use media assets, including logos, icons, and imagery
Drag and drop assets directly into your Figma Buzz designs
Always work with the most up-to-date versions of your brand assets, fetched directly from Frontify’s governed libraries
This ensures your creative teams stay efficient and consistent, using only the right, approved brand assets in every project.
In essence: Frontify provides governed brand assets within Figma Buzz — it does not govern Figma Buzz itself.
Install the Frontify Plug-in in Figma Buzz
You can find the Frontify Plug-in directly in the Figma Buzz Plug-in section.
Open Figma Buzz.
Click the “Plugins” icon in the sidebar.
Search within the Plugins section for ‘Frontify.’
Once you’ve found it, click on Open In.
Figma Buzz will open a dedicated plug-in page showing the installation screen.
Press Run to start the setup.
Insert your Frontify domain and sign in to your environment.
Once authorized, the plug-in is ready to use.
Start using the Frontify Plug-in
To open the plug-in in Figma Buzz:
Click the Plug-in section in Figma Buzz.
Go to Frontify.
Sign in to your Frontify environment if prompted.
You’ll then see your connected Frontify assets, ready to browse and use.
Access your Frontify brand assets in Figma Buzz
Brand colors
Open the Color tab to view your Frontify color palettes.
Click a color to apply it as a fill, border, drop shadow, or inner shadow.
Hover over a color and click the three dots (⋯) to choose how to apply it.
Add all color palettes to your local styles by clicking Add all to local Styles.
Brand typography
Apply Frontify-defined text styles directly within Figma Buzz:
Select any text layer in your design.
Choose a Frontify text style and apply it.
Optionally, import your text styles into Figma Buzz’s native assets panel for quick reuse.
Tip: Using predefined brand colors and typography ensures every file stays visually consistent with your brand guidelines.
Access your media assets
The plug-in connects directly to your Frontify Media Library, Icon Library, and Logo Library, ensuring you always use the latest approved assets.
Media Library
Browse your Frontify media assets.
Drag and drop images directly onto the Figma Buzz canvas.
Replace an existing image by dragging a new one over it.
Select multiple images to add them at once.
Images are automatically optimized to the smallest suitable resolution. If you resize a frame later, click the asset again in the plug-in to update it with the correct resolution.
Icon Library
Browse your icon libraries and:
Copy icons to your clipboard to paste into your design, or
Drag and drop them directly into your Figma Buzz canvas.
You can also select several icons and import them together.
Logo Library
Just like icons, logos can be browsed and inserted into your designs:
Choose the right logo version (horizontal, vertical, black, white, etc.).
Drag and drop it into your canvas, or copy it for quick use.
Switch between different libraries and brands
You can:
Switch between library types (Media, Icon, or Logo).
Switch between different libraries of the same type.
Choose to view assets from the Library page (consumer view) or, if you have permission, from the Library backend.
This flexibility ensures everyone can work with exactly the libraries they need.
Security and governance
The plug-in uses secure authentication, so users only see and use the brand assets they’re authorized to access. Assets are pulled live from Frontify — guaranteeing version control and compliance across all your design work in Figma Buzz.
