MCP

  1. Is the MCP available to everyone? The Frontify MCP is currently available to all interested Frontify customers in beta. If you're interested in testing it out, please reach out to your customer success manager so we can get it enabled for your account. Once active, any user with a compatible AI tool (such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Figma) can connect individually, using their own Frontify login to authenticate. The MCP respects your existing Frontify permissions, so each user only has access to what they can already see and do in the platform.

  2. When will MCP be released and what's the roadmap for it to come out of beta? The MCP is available to all interested Frontify customers in beta. If you're want to test it out, please reach out to your customer success manager so we can get it enabled for your account. Once active, any user with a compatible AI tool — such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Figma — can connect individually, using their own Frontify login to authenticate. We are seeing very positive feedback from early adopters. Driven by their feedback, we're constantly launching new updates, making our MCP stronger by the day. Soon it will also be moved out of beta, official date to be confirmed.

  3. Do people need to be a Frontify user to use the co-pilot integration? Using the MCP requires authentication via a personal Frontify account. For middleware-based co-pilot integrations, a direct Frontify account isn't strictly required, but we strongly recommend named user access. It keeps your data tracked and secure, enables personalized permissions, and gives you analytics on how users interact with your guidelines and assets.

  4. Do you provide training for setting up MCP use cases? We don't offer formal training courses at this time, but we actively partner with customers to explore and shape use cases together. Share what you want to achieve with your Customer Success Manager and we'll work with you to find the right approach. Note that not every use case is solvable through the MCP alone. Some may require Automations, skill sets, or other platform configurations.

  5. When using MCP beta, admin access was a bottleneck. What user permissions are needed for someone to access brand assets and guidelines from a Claude chat? The MCP respects each user's existing Frontify permissions — they can only see and do what they already have access to in the platform. A regular Frontify user with at least Viewer access to the relevant guideline or library should be able to connect Claude and start accessing brand assets and guidelines without an admin role required on their end. The only admin action needed is the one-time account-level MCP activation by the CSM or Frontify Support. Please let us know if you encounter any issues.

  6. Do you have any help guides for how to set up your guidelines to fit both people and AI, without making the guidelines bulky and hard to navigate? Would it be possible to have training resources for how to set up MCP user access so employees across a company can access guidelines with their prompts (e.g. a sales employee building their own social card)? We're actively working on resources to help with this, but the best starting point right now is to test real use cases with the MCP using your existing guidelines and observe where they succeed or fail. When a use case fails, that failure tells you exactly what guidance is missing. You can then use an LLM to suggest improvements or add the missing context manually. Getting guidelines AI-ready isn't something you do overnight. It often means defining information that simply doesn't exist yet. If you'd like us to help run an analysis, reach out to your Customer Success Manager.

  7. Since most work is now done by agentic flows, what steps is Frontify taking to ensure brand assets and guidelines are completely readable and accessible by AI agents so teams can build effective workflows? This is one of the most exciting challenges we’re working on and our customers are a huge part of this. In general, we want to make sure, that all of the information from the platform is machine-readable and also accessible via our MCP. With an infinite number of brand and marketing workflows being overhauled, we’re eager to give brands the stable brand truth that brings it all together.

Our MCP already lets AI agents like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor pull brand guidelines, assets, templates, and more directly from Frontify, respecting each user's existing permissions. On top of that, we're constantly evolving our machine-readable guidelines, e.g by introducing semantic search capabilities and more structured data in order to ensure agents find and apply the right brand knowledge.

The goal is for your brand knowledge to work as structured, machine-readable intelligence wherever your team's agents are operating, not as static documentation.

  8. If my team or suppliers have privacy concerns over the higher integration of AI, is there a reference page I can share to address concerns that their data will remain confidential and not be sent to a third-party LLM? Our privacy FAQ on the website, the privacy notice, and our security and privacy trust center should contain all the info needed.

DAM scalability

  1. When are curated views being launched in the DAM? Views are expected to launch in the DAM this summer, likely before the end of August 2026. Curated views let your team create named, reusable views of a library based on metadata-driven rules, so the right assets reach the right audience, automatically.

  2. AI tagging has been very inefficient for us, often tagging irrelevant or inaccurate tags. How is Frontify working on improving AI tagging? The core AI tagging uses Amazon AWS Rekognition, which works well for general use but may not suit every library's specific needs. We recommend using the Automations feature to run OpenAI image analysis with a custom set of strict rules tailored to your assets. You can also fine-tune or bring your own models and run them via Automations on top of your DAM. There are plenty of options where out-of-the-box tagging isn't enough. Reach out to your CSM if you need help choosing the right approach.

  3. How can we add custom metadata for assets that are already uploaded and don't have it? Can we do this in bulk? Yes. Frontify already offers native bulk metadata editing. You can select multiple assets in the platform and update their metadata in one action. For larger-scale operations, the Bulk Metadata app lets you assign metadata at even bigger scale. We're also working on improvements to support larger batches. Reach out to your CSM to share your specific requirements.

  5. With meta tagging at folder level, does this mean certain assets wouldn't be tagged at upload but then done in bulk at a later stage? Metadata assigned at upload always takes priority and won't be overwritten by folder-level settings. The new folder-level metadata feature lets editors batch-update assets within a folder and its sub-folders. It's designed to identify and fill metadata gaps for better discoverability, not to replace upload-time tagging. If you want automatic metadata assignment on upload into a folder, the Automations feature can handle that. The bulk uploader supports up to 25,000 assets per batch.

  6. You showed how to integrate custom views of libraries into guidelines for sharing localized campaigns. Is it organized through folders, and when will it be available? Curated views aren't folder-based. They're driven by rules you configure, such as workflow status or metadata criteria. As an editor, manager, or admin, you set these rules in the back-end library, and they control which assets appear in the front-end view, ensuring end users only see assets that are ready to use. The feature is expected to launch this summer, likely before the end of August 2026.

  7. Is the asset curation in the backend going to be available in the frontend? If we use the same library for different markets, can we choose or hide certain assets per market? Yes, this is exactly what curated views unlock. You configure rules in the back-end library and the resulting front-end view is fully customizable per market, campaign, or audience. It shows only the assets that meet your criteria and hides the rest. Governance at scale.

  8. Is there an integrated analytics tool so this platform can prove its ROI? Can you measure usage amount, time, and improvement over a given period? Yes, Frontify gives you the tools to measure usage, track trends over time, and make a clear case for ROI, all from within the platform itself. If you'd like a walkthrough of the analytics dashboard, your Customer Success Manager would be happy to help!

  9. If I have a bulk amount of files to upload, can I also include an Excel file with the metadata, then upload and assign metadata in one go? Not directly, no. If you need to assign unique metadata to a large set of assets, we recommend using the Bulk Metadata Update app, which is purpose-built for this. Reach out to your Customer Success Manager to get it enabled and walk through how to use it.

  10. Do you think it will be possible in the coming months to manage different languages within a single attribute without having to duplicate it for each language? This isn't on our current roadmap. We know some teams are working around this today by duplicating custom metadata fields per language, and we understand that's not ideal. It's a complex problem to solve well, so we want to make sure we understand the full range of use cases before we commit to a direction. If you have specific requirements, please share them with your Customer Success Manager so we can track the need as this topic develops.

Templates

  1. Will templates need to be created from scratch in the DAM? Can existing PSDs saved in the DAM be converted into native templates? And can a template adapt to different sizes automatically, or does a designer need to set up each size? Templates start in your design tool, not from scratch in the DAM. Frontify supports Figma, InDesign, and Sketch. PSDs aren't directly supported, but you can convert them to Figma first and then import into Frontify. On sizing, a designer still needs to set up each size variant manually today, but we're actively working on an automated approach for the future. Our motion templates are built on HTML, which opens up strong technical possibilities for automating multi-format output at enterprise scale.

  2. The Templates function is supposed to facilitate localization across markets, but the UX/UI elements are still only in English with no translation option, including automatically triggered emails. Will this be worked on in the future? Localization is an important aspect we are considering. We have automatic translation of template content on the roadmap, so teams can produce market-specific assets without manually recreating templates per language. The UI and system emails being fully translated is a separate piece of work that we are tracking for future roadmap cycles.

  3. Can we import MP4 files into the motion design feature? Currently, MP4 files cannot be imported into motion templates as source material, the feature supports Figma designs as input. However, you can absolutely export your finished animated templates as MP4 files (as well as GIF and HTML5), making it a great tool for producing on-brand animated ads and social content. Video embedding and video editing are not supported at this stage, but video input is one of the most requested capabilities and is being considered for a future version of motion templates.

  4. When will we see the feature to have an agent build exact templates from guidelines (as demonstrated at OMR with Telekom)? Alex from Deutsche Telekom shared some of the incredible apps they have built for their end users using the Frontify SDK and other developer tools. Using those, anyone can build custom solutions to use within Frontify for their specific needs. Please be in touch! We'd love to hear about your ideas.

We're also in an active discovery phase on how we can extend the programmatic creation and manipulation of Templates with lots of exciting things to come.

  5. The campaign feature seems very useful, but I'm unsure how the brand parameters would be inputted. Will we be able to see a more thorough demo of this feature in the near future? Please reach out to your Customer success manager - we'd love to show you what's already possible now and what we're working on next, and to better understand your specific requirements.
