How do I connect the Library to the Guideline?

Why does my Library not appear in the Guidelines?

To connect a Library to a Guideline:

  1. Open the Guideline in Frontify and switch to edit mode by clicking the pencil icon in the left-side Power Bar.

  2. Open the Navigation Manager (also accessible from the Power Bar).

  3. Click the "+" button, select "Library," and choose the library you want to connect.

  4. Save your changes.

Once connected, the library will appear as a page in your Guideline's top navigation. Viewers can browse, search, and download assets directly from there, without needing separate access to the backend library.

Note: Libraries can currently only appear in Guidelines when added to the top-level navigation via the Navigation Manager.

One backend library can be connected to multiple library pages across different Guidelines (within the same brand). Simply repeat the Navigation Manager steps above for each Guideline.

Once you have connected your library, you can find the 'connected guidelines' in the backend of that library by pressing on the three dots in the top right corner.

Note on search filters (facets): Facets are configured on the library page (the frontend view within a Guideline), not on the backend library itself. If you connect an existing library to a new or duplicated Guideline, you will need to set up your facets again on the new library page. Your underlying assets, metadata, and tags remain intact.
