Asana integration

Sync attachments from Asana straight into any Frontify Library or Project

Updated yesterday

Introduction

Use the Asana integration to move approved work from your Asana tasks directly into Frontify, complete with the right metadata, so assets are searchable, reusable, and ready for distribution. This integration removes copy-paste steps, reduces risk of misplaced files, and ensures the right assets end up in Frontify with the context they need.

With the Frontify + Asana integration, you can:

  • Stay compliant: Authentication ensures you can only upload to destinations you’re allowed to access in Frontify.

  • Upload task attachments to Frontify: Send files from an Asana task (or subtask) straight to a Frontify Library or Project you can access.

  • Apply metadata at source: Fill in Frontify custom metadata from Asana so your assets land correctly categorized and easy to find.

Before you get started

Make sure you have:

  • Frontify access: An account with permission to upload to the target Library or Project (typically Editor or above user role).

  • Asana access: An Asana account with permission to install apps in your workspace. Your Asana Admin/Owner may need to approve and install the Frontify app in Asana Marketplace.

  • Your Frontify domain: In Frontify, click your profile icon (bottom-left) → Domain management → copy an accessible domain URL (e.g., brand.frontify.com).

  • Paid integration: This is a paid integration. Please contact your Customer Success Manager for more information.

How to install the integration

  1. Open Asana Marketplace and add the Frontify integration to your workspace and project.

  2. Authenticate the connection: when prompted, enter your Frontify domain (from Domain management in Frontify - the clean URL of your Frontify portal).

  3. Approve permissions of the App.

  4. You’re done — the integration will appear in Asana task panes where attachments live.

How it works

  1. Install from the Asana Marketplace: Open the Asana Marketplace, search for Frontify, and install the integration in your workspace. Authenticate using your Frontify domain and approve the requested permissions.

  2. Add the Frontify app to your Asana project: Open the project you want to use, go to Customize / Apps, and add Frontify so it’s available inside tasks.

  3. Add attachments to a task: In an Asana task or subtask, upload or attach the files you want to send to Frontify.

  4. Upload to Frontify: Open the Frontify panel in the task and click Upload to Frontify. Select one or more attachments to include.

  5. Complete metadata and confirm upload: Choose the target Frontify Library or Project, fill in the required metadata in the upload form, and confirm. Your assets are now stored in Frontify and ready to use.
