The Frontify Browser Extension brings governed brand assets directly into the web tools you already use, so you can find, download, or upload the right file without leaving what you're working on.
What this integration does
Search, browse, and download governed Frontify assets, or copy the asset's URL or file to your clipboard
Transform an asset before you use it: remove the background, resize it, convert it to PNG or WEBP, or change the background colour, all without leaving the browse.

Why use this integration
Without a dedicated integration, getting an asset means leaving your tool, opening Frontify, downloading, and coming back. The extension puts that same governed access inside the tool itself, so people stop reusing outdated files from their downloads folder just because it's faster.
It also delivers the asset in the form you need it in. Instead of round-tripping through a separate design tool, you can remove a background, resize, convert the format, or change the background colour right from the extension.
For Creators and Contributors, it works in reverse: upload finished work to Frontify straight from the page you're on, to a destination your permissions already allow.
What you need before setup
Browser
A supported browser: Chrome, Edge, or Firefox
The extension installed from that browser's official store (Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, or Mozilla Add-ons)
In enterprise environments where browser extensions are centrally managed, IT approval to install the extension
Frontify
An existing Frontify account with permissions already set for the assets and upload destinations you need
No separate login or permission setup: you sign in with your normal Frontify credentials, including SSO
How to set up the extension
Step 1 – Install the extension (in your browser's extension store)
Install the Frontify extension from the Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, or Mozilla Add-ons, depending on your browser.
Note: If your organization manages browser extensions centrally, check with your IT team before installing. They may need to approve the extension first.
Step 2 – Sign in to Frontify (in the extension)
Sign in with your existing Frontify credentials, including SSO if that's how you normally log in. You'll see exactly the assets and upload destinations your current Frontify permissions already allow. There's nothing new to configure.
How to use the extension
Searching and browsing assets
Open the extension's Finder from any web page to search and browse your governed Frontify assets, the same way you would inside Frontify itself.
Downloading assets
Download an asset directly from the Finder to use it in whatever tool you're working in.
Copying a URL or copying to clipboard
Instead of downloading a file, copy the asset's URL, or copy the asset itself to your clipboard, so you can paste it where you need it.
Transforming an asset
Before you use an asset, you can remove its background, change its dimensions, convert it to PNG or WEBP, or change its background colour, all from within the extension.
Dragging assets into another tool
Drag an asset out of the Finder and drop it as a real file into tools like Google Drive, WeTransfer, Notion, Slite, Jira, and Linear.
Note: On Firefox, drag and drop only works on a limited set of websites. This is a Firefox platform limitation, not a gap in the extension. Search, browse, download, and upload all work fully on Firefox.
Uploading assets to Frontify
Right-click any image or media on a webpage and select Upload to Frontify. You'll only see destinations you have permission to upload to. Before the upload completes, you'll be prompted for any required metadata, so rights and licensing information is captured at the point of intake.
Note: The extension does not prompt for metadata during upload. Assets arrive in Frontify without rights or licensing information attached, so add that afterward in Frontify.
Important: The extension is not the right path for large files or video. Use a dedicated Frontify connector for those instead.
Known limitations

Drag and drop on Firefox works only on a narrow set of websites
Large files and video should not be uploaded through the extension
